• The Oberoi Mumbai opened its gates to the public after remaining shut for 17 months for reconstruction work for which the hotel group has spent close to $40 million (about Rs 170 crore).

• Oberoi and Taj hotels were among the places in the city attacked by armed gunmen on November 26, 2008 in which over 160 people were killed.
