The 83rd Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, is set to honor the best films of 2010 Sunday from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California starting at 8:30 p.m. It will be televised on ABC, locally on Channel 7.
Actors James Franco and Anne Hathaway will host the show. Franco will be making his second appearance on an Oscars telecast and it will be Hathaway’s fifth appearance. In 2008, she was nominated for an Oscar for her lead performance in “Rachel Getting Married.” This year, Franco is nominated for Best Actor for his performance in the taut drama “127 Hours.”
Nominations for the were announced on January 25. “The King’s Speech” received the most nominations with twelve. “True Grit” followed with ten with “The Social Network” and “Inception” snagging eight each. “Toy Story 3,” the highest grossing film of 2010, became the third animated film to be nominated for Best Picture.
