Jessica Simpson With Eric Johnson Engagement Celebrates

Singer Jessica Simpson celebrated her engagement with footbal player Eric Johnson at a party with friends and family. The celebrations involved about 40 to 50 people, including a few football players.

All of them gathered at the California home of Simpson’s parents, Joe and Tina. Guests were served hamburger and veggie burger sliders, chicken skewers, mini pizzas, shrimp, and for dessert, mini cupcakes.

“They were very happy. It was the first time they had seen a lot of their friends since the engagement. She was excited to see her girlfriends,” usmagazine.com quoted a friend of Simpson as saying. The couple began dating in June, when Johnson was separated from his wife of five years, Keri. Simpson split from ex-husband Nick Lachey, 37, in 2005.

Jessica Simpson Engaged With NFL Player Eric Johnson

Singer and television personality Jessica Simpson on Sunday got engaged with her boyfriend and former NFL player Eric Johnson, Simpson and Johnson have been dating since last May. Johnson, 30, is a former tight end that played for seven years in the National Football League (NFL).

Both Simpson and Johnson will get married for the second time. Simpson, 31, was married to signer Nick Lachey with whom starred Newlyweds, a reality show that depicted the life of the two then recently married singers. The pair divorced in 2006 and Lachey announced a few weeks ago his engagement to longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo, a former host of MTV. After her divorce, Simpson dated Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo for two years. However, the Cowboys star player broke their relationship on Simpson’s 29th birthday. Since then, the television personality has dated Johnson.

“Yes, we are excited to confirm that they are engaged. The pair kicked off their courtship in May, after being introduced by friends,” a representative for the singer said Sunday. During the weekend, the host of “The Price of Beauty,” has been seen in public brandishing her ruby and diamond engagement ring as she promoted her latest clothing line. Johnson was drafted in 2001 by the San Francisco 49ers. He also played for the New Orleans Saints before becoming a free agent in 2008. He divorced his wife of five years in February.
