Psychosis (2010) | Hollywood Movie Psychosis Review | Hollywood Movie Psychosis Preview

Psychosis (2010)

Short review: UK horror/thriller "Psychosis" opens with a serial killer, who unleashes his blood lust at a remote environmental-camp. Years later a horror novelist relocates to rural England and is plagued to the point of madness by horrific visions of a massacre in the house she lives with her husband. "Psychosis" is mildly engrossing and quite watchable little horror film, with enough intriguing elements and off-beat mystery to satisfy the average horror movie goers. Charisma Carpenter is a sympathetic heroine, and well-cast for the role of Susan. She shows emotions and her insanity is very believable. Former model, Paul Sculfor, is pretty unconvincing as the caring husband, who turned out to be a hypocritical cheater. Ricci Harnett as the mysterious and creepy gardener Peck, delivers the chills. In terms of visuals, the film is a misfire. It looks cheap, the camera work is amateurish and the editing is poor. I know it's a B-movie, but it doesn't mean it has to look like it was shot in the backyard. Overall, "Psychosis" is decent, yet instantly forgettable straight-to-DVD horror flick, and while far from original, it has its moments of tension and suspense.

Shelter (2010) | Hollywood Movie Shelter Review | Hollywood Movie Shelter Preview

, Shelter (2010) - Hollywood Movie Shelter Reviews
Shelter (2010)

Absolutely gripping from strat to finish "Shelter" is a supernatural horror/thriller with an intriguing and mysterious premise, that tells the story of a female forensic psychiatrist, played by Julianna Moore, who discovers that all of one of her patient's multiple personalities are murder victims, and she will have to find out what's happening before her time is finished. The story comes Michael Cooney, who also wrote the script of the 2003 horror hit “Identity”, and "Shelter" is pretty similar in dealing with multiple personalities and disturbing murders. It might not be as good as "Identity", but it's a solid effort, thanks to top-notch directing by Swedish filmmakers, Måns Mårlind & Björn Stein, fascinating creepy visuals, nice camera shots, and last but not least, an incredible performances from the two leads. The first part of the film is more psychological and mysterious.. and when the supernatural element comes into play, "Shelter" becomes even more engrossing, while a bit messy. Jonathan Rhys Meyers gives an insanely creepy, multi-layered performance, and I found him pretty convincing and very credible in portraying his character with multiple personalities. My only complain is, that he's way too handsome to play such a sick and crazy character. Julianne Moore is good as usual - she delivers typically solid performance as the anxious psychiatrist, Cara. The supporting cast is good as well - special mention goes to Frances Conroy as Mrs. Bernburg. "Shelter" is slightly predictable and at times quite silly, and there is too much going on... and yet, it's one well-shot, thrilling and hugely-entertaining mess of a film!

Vikram coming back to Malayalam Industry with Roshan Andrews Movie

After much speculations about being in a Mollywood movie, Tamil  superstar Vikram has decided to do his first Malayalam film for director Roshan Andrews. Roshan Andrews is the one who directed super hit movies  like ‘Notebook’ and ‘Evidam Swargamanu’. He is also the director of ‘Udayanu Tharam’, which was later remade ‘Vellithirai’ in Tamil.

‘Cheeyan’ Vikram who never concealed his love for doing Malayalam films has finally decided on one. Roshan who had been an admirer of Vikram had met him last year in a function organised by a private channel. A few weeks back, they met again at a private function, where Vikram asked Roshan to suggest a good story in Malayalam so that he can take the plunge. Few days later Roshan had sent a synopsis of a plot written by his writers Bobby-Sanjai. Vikram was immediately floored by the wonderful plot lines and immediately agreed to do it.

When Roshan discussed the remuneration part, Vikram is said to have told Roshan, “I will not take a single pie for the project. Let the film be my contribution to Malayalam cinema.” The project will off by the early 2011. Vikram has to complete his current projects and Roshan will also be ready by then finishing his much delayed film ‘Casanova’ with Mohanlal which is said to the costliest Malayalam film ever.

‘Mangaatha’ For Piggyback Ride With ‘Naan Mahan Alla’

Ajith Kumar’s 50th film ‘Mangaatha – Ulle Veliye’ took off this morning with a photo-shoot session in a studio near AVM. The entire technical crew of this film – Venkat Prabhu, Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematographer Sakthi Saravanan was present. Ajith Kumar was present in a sleek black silky shirt. The costume used during photo shoot itself was revealing that Ajith Kumar wouldn’t be spotted in clichéd costumes of blazers, which are considered as timeworn factors.Producer Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Productions  has decided to screen first look teasers of ‘Mangaatha’ during the intermission of ‘Naan Mahan Alla’. Since, both the films are produced by the same banner; the producers have decided to create sensation with such factors.Recently, Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’ had a teaser like photo shoot before the launch itself and has been telecasted in kalagnar TV. Before years, Vikram’s ‘Kanthaswamy’ had the teasers shot exotically and raised everyone’s expectations.

‘I’m answerable to two persons in my life’: Tamannaah

The milky beauty Tamannaah has been in the news  for some time for the rumors buzz about her relation with her co star Karthi from the time they both acted together in ‘Paiyaa’ and pairing up for another new film. The actress said that she is not at all worried about these rumors milling around
her.

The actress says “Because I know what the truth is. We are just colleagues and we are going to act together in another film too. I can’t achieve my goals if I am bothered by these mindless rumours.”

On saying that she is not answerable to any one in this world to these rumors buzzing except for her mother and father, she adds “They know pretty well what’s happening in my life.”

“The support from my parents has made me achieve something,” she says and adds: “But I am aware that there is still a long way to go. My aim is that I should act in all kind of roles before I call it a day.” Tamannaah says further. [WaY]

Ajith fans bother Simbu to sign 3 Idiots remake

The news about Silambarasan playing the role of Sharman Joshi in both Tamil and Telugu remakes of 3 Idiots happened to be the sensational headlines for past couple of days.

But now, it’s literally disappointing to hear Simbu saying that he hasn’t decided about signing this project. Recently, the actor was present for an interactive session with students of journalism and threw some lights on present trend of films and changing mindsets of audiences.

When asked about his decision over signing 3 Idiots remake, the young actor replied that he would love working with actor Vijay, but fans of Ajith Kumar may have some resentments. Very often, Silambarasan used to quote Ajith Kumar as his inspiring role model and the duo shares a great friendship.

Since, there happens to be a sort of clashes between the fans of Vijay and Ajith Kumar in Tamil Nadu, Silambarasan has seemingly made a smart move by staying out of trouble.

Now with both Maddy and Simbu refusing the offers, Shankar must be wriggling his head over signing some efficient actors, who’ll be more apt than these ones for the lead roles. (OI)

Trisha Suffering From ‘Gerascophobia’

To those who are not aware, the word 'Gerascophobia' refers to the fear of ageing. Usually, this is high among the women who have gone past their twenties and right now, one top league heroine is said to be going through this. She is none other than the petite beauty Trisha.

Sources say that she is touching 30 in three years time but right now, she wants to look 20 forever. With the Bollywood debut happening for Trisha, the urge seems to have gone stronger, as per sources.

The unusual thing is that it is heard that Trisha is taking injections that protect her from ageing and one really wonders what would be the side effects of this. This grapevine is making strong rounds in the Kollywood circuit and let us hope that Trisha is not resorting to such stuff. (GA)

Actress Meena who married to the software engineer Vidyasagar in July 2009. Earlier we heard that that the actress and her husband is in split up mood, now the latest grapevine is that the actress Meena is pregnant now.

Now a days she is not found in any shootings and it proves that she stays at home all the time. Of course there are no new opportunities also for her to come out that is a different issue.

Except God, no one else knows the reason why Meena needs to hide her pregnancy.

Well let’s wait and see…..lets expect that at least she will let public to know after her delivery. (CHIT)

Billa -2 is ready for Ajith Kumar

If there has to be one film that made high waves for Ajith Kumar during times of his distress, it can be none other than his mind-boggling action packed thriller titled ‘Billa’, which was a remake of yesteryear superstar Rajnikanth film with the same title. After three years of time, the maker of Billa is ready with script for its sequel titled ‘Billa-2’.

Ajith Kumar is now busy listening to various scripts as he is planning to couple of projects at the same time. Since, ‘Mangaatha’ will be taking off during the mid of August, the actor is now utilizing the time for the sake of finalizing script. Trisha Gives Green Signal For Lip Lock

Bollywood is one place where anything can happen and even the most tamed heroines tend to become bombshells. It appears that the same is happening with the petite beauty Trisha.

Reports are arriving from Mumbai that Trisha has given her green signal to get into lip lock sequences on the screen. If that is true, then she will definitely pip the other south Indian beauties like Asin or Priyamani who are vying for a spot there.

What remains to be seen is who is going to be the lucky actor that will get to touch the soft and juicy lips of Trisha in front of the camera. Right now, she is gearing up for the shooting of her new Hindi movie under the direction of Gautam Menon. (GUL)
