Jayamala Guilty Of Touched The Sabarimala Deity

The revelation which was made more than four years ago had created quite a buzz in Kerala, more so because Jayamala herself admitted to the fact that she had entered the temple unlawfully.

Along with the actress, the two other accused in the case are P. Unnikrishnan and the assistant to the astrologer Reghupathy. The charge sheet which has been filed in the Ranni First Class Judicial Court in Kerala finds the accused guilty of violating section 295 of the Indian Penal Code because they had carried out a deliberate attempt to malign religious sentiments.

P. Unnikrishnan had launched an investigation inside the Lord Ayyappa temple which showed results pointing to the fact that a woman had touched the Sabarimala deity. It was later that actress Jayamala held herself guilty of committing the crime.

Malayalam actress Kavya Madhavan and her husband Nishal Chandra have agreed to sign on a divorce petition following irreconcilable differences in their two-year-old marriage.

Kavya got married to Nischal Chandran, a software engineer based in Kuwait in December 2008 following which Kavya left for Kuwait with her husband in February 2009.She returned home in June that year and did not go back thereafter mean while she filed a petition in the family court seeking divorce.

The two came to the family court in Ernakulam separately and attended court proceedings and informed the court that the divorce was with mutual consent.The divorce was mediated by friends on both sides after the actress filed a dowry harassment complaint against Nishal and his family members recently.Subsequently,Nishal moved the high court praying that the FIR be quashed since conciliatory moves were on.

Though the court rejected the request,it asked the police not to arrest Nishal for a week to allow out-of-court settlement.Kavya will withdraw the two complaints filed against Nishal and his family as part of the settlement.

Kavya Madhavan files petition for divorce - Kavya Madhavan Divorce Latest News and Reasons

Popular Malayalam actress Kavya Madhavan today filed a joint petition in court with her husband seeking divorce.

This was following an out of court settlement reached between the two families in this regard.

Kavya, who got married to Nischal Chandran, a software engineer based in Kuwait in February last year, decided to call off her wedding shortly after.

She returned to Kerala and filed a petition in the family court seeking divorce and another petition in the Ernakulam First Class Magistrate court against her husband and in-laws under the Domestic Violence Act for causing mental stress.

The two came to the family court here separately today and attended court proceedings and informed the court that the divorce was with mutual consent.

Kavya has also decided to withdraw a police case against her husband for domestic violence.

Earlier, Nischal Chandran had filed a petition in the Kerala High court seeking quashing of the criminal case against him and his family members saying they had reached an out of court settlement. The court had dismissed it as no evidence in this regard had been produced.

The prosecution had also given an undertaking not to arrest him for a week.

Kavya, who entered the Malayalam film industry as a child actress, has done varied roles in films like Meesha Madhavan, Classmates and Ananthabhadran. She had quit the industry after marriage, but has again started acting in films after her marriage broke up.

The wait of 60 years has come to a fair conclusion with the judges aptly passing on a verdict which makes none a loser.The three-member bench of the Allahabad High Court,comprising justices SU Khan, Sudhir Agarwal and DV Sharma today delivered a split verdict in 60-year old Ayodhya title suit.The Court has ordered that the disputed holy site in Ayodhya be divided into three parts: one-third for Hindu Mahasabha, one-third for Sunni Waqf Board and one-third for the Nirmohi Akhara.

The majority ruled that the disputed land in Ayodhya was a joint property, held by all the three claimants namely Hindu Mahasabha , Nirmohi Akhara and Sunni Central Waqf Board. Justice SU Khan said that the mosque was built by Babar, not by demolishing a temple , but on the ruins of a temple.

WHAT THE JUDGES SAID

"Disputed structure was constructed as mosque by or under orders of Babar. It is not proved by direct evidence that premises in dispute including constructed portion belong to Babar or the person who constructed the mosque. No temple was demolished for constructing the mosque, but it was constructed on the ruins of the temple or some of its material was used in the construction of the mosque."

Justice Sudhir Agarwal

" It is declared that the area covered by the central dome of the three domed structure, the disputed structure being the deity of Bhagwan Ram Janma Sthan and place of birth of Lord Rama as per faith and belief of the Hindus, belong to plaintiff- Bhagwan Sri Ram Virajman. and shall not be obstructed or interfered in any manner by the defendants, Rajendra Singh and others."

Justice Dharam Veer Sharma

" The disputed site is the birth place of Lord Rama. Disputed building was constructed by Babar, the year is not certain, but it was built against the tenets of Islam. Thus it cannot have the character of a mosque. The disputed structure was constructed on the site of old structure after demolition of the same. The ASI has proved that the structure was a massive Hindu religious structure. The idols were placed in the middle dome of the disputed structure in the intervening night of 22/23 December 1949."

National Award For Amitabh,llayaraja & 'Pasanga'

The 57th National award winners have been announced and Maestro Ilayaraja has won the award for the Best Background score for his efforts in Pazhassi Raja. Playback Singer Swarnalatha was from Palakad, Kerala. She knows to play harmonium and Keyboard. She won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her rendition of the famous song Porale Ponnuthayi from the film Karuththamma. The song was composed by A.R.Rahman, with whom she has given lot of memorable songs. She is one of the 'melodious' (eg.
