Dabangg Remake Tamil Version Title OsthiThe puja of the STR starrer Osthi – The Cool Cop, the remake of the super hit Hindi film Dabangg took place at the AVM pillayar kovil this morning. The event was attended by a host of Kollywood celebs including Rama Narayanan, RB Chowdary, T Rajender and Salman Khan’s brother Arbaz Khan who flew in from Mumbai for the launch.

The film stars STR playing a cop for the first time, taking the role of the original Chulbul Pandey, played by Salman. There was a stiff competition for the remake rights of this super hit but ultimately it was producers Balaji Real Media and  Mohan Apparao who bagged it.

The film is directed by Dharani and Sonakshi Sinha’s role is played by Richa Gangopadhyaya who was not present at the launch. The role of Dimple, the mother of the hero, will be done by Revathi who returns to Tamil films after a gap. At the press meet following the puja, Dharani disclosed that Sonu Sood would continue as the villain in the Tamil version as well while Gopinath is doing the camerawork. S Thaman handles the music.

The film is a first cop role for STR who disclosed that he is growing a moustache for the role. The shoot will begin next month. I want to try all genres of films and playing a cop seems an exciting prospect for me. I am observing some cops and also doing some body building before the start of the shooting. I am a Salman fan and I loved the film when I saw it and I thought I would suit the role. I am sure Dharani will give me a new color. said STR.

Revathi who was also present, added that she was confident of doing the film once she knew that Dharini was at the helm. Jithan Ramesh who was present, plays the role of STR’s brother in the film, which was originally played by Arbaz Khan.

Hot Girl Nayan joined Rama Rajyam Unit

Nayantara is back in front of the camera as she has resumed shoot of her Telugu mythological Sri Rama Rajyam in Hyderabad. Meanwhile the actress who is avoiding media and public functions made a quiet entry at the 125 days celebration of her maiden Kannada film Super in Bangalore on May 1.

She shared the dais with veterans like Ambareesh and Saroja Devi and superstars like Upendra and Shivrajkumar. Remember Super is one of the biggest blockbusters in Kananda in recent times.

Nayantara joined the Rama Rajyam unit on May 3 at Ramaoji Rao studio in Hydearabad where a huge set is erected. She is shooting with Akkineni Nageswara Rao, the doyen of Telugu cinema who is playing the role of sage Valmiki, Nandamuri Balakrishna, who plays Lord Rama and Srikanth who dons the role of Lakshmana.

Sri Rama Rajyam is one of costliest mythological film made in Telugu with music by maestro Ilayaraja and directed by Bapu. The big question still remains whether Nayan will do another Kollywood film

Telungu Actress Divya Spandana and Raphael wedding soon

Here we have something interesting about Divya Spandana’s boyfriend, with whom she was recently spotted at the Chinaswamy Stadium in Bangalore and even posed for photographers.

Remember the actress recently disclosed that she is in love. We learn that her man’s name is Raphael, an industrialist who is half-German and half-Swiss. “Both met during a New Year party,” say sources.

Raphael belonging to a big business family based in Portugal and Switzerland. His family is largest supplier of home electronics in Europe.

“What started as friendship slowly blossomed into love. And the couple had no problems in expressing it. Even elders in both the families are aware of the relationship and have given their consent,” sources further say.

However, both Divya and Raphael are not in a hurry to tie the knot. “They have some professional goals to achieve before entering the wedlock. While Rapheal is busy with his business, Divya has signed some interesting films.”

It is usually the job of a hero to save the heroine from goons and rapists onscreen. But here is one man who seems to have done it off the screen as well. He is none other than Daggubati Rana and the woman in crisis was none other than the Bollywood bombshell Bipasha Basu.

On one hand, rumors are making rounds about Rana- Bipasha having ‘something…something’. As if that is not enough, when Bipasha was in Hyderabad for a promotional event of ‘Dum Maro Dum’, Rana was reportedly all over her protecting her from enthusiastic fans and perverted fans trying to touch her. Those who were present there said “Rana has got the height and personality to shadow Bipasha but given his status, it was not necessary. Anyways, he is trying to be chivalrous which is good but let us hope he doesn’t give an impression like bodyguard. As such who can say no to a hot body like Bipasha, maybe that’s why Rana became the hero protecting Bips from getting battered.”

Tapsee refuesed to act with Big B

Tapsee Pannu, the vibrant Punjabi girl who is making her debut in K’Town with a big film opposite Dhanush, named Aadukalam, is the toast of Tamil and Tollywood filmmakers.Now we hear the actress has turned down a Bollywood offer with none other than Amitabh Bachchan.

Sources said ace Telugu filmmaker Puri Jagannadh is set to begin his Hindi film with Big B from February. After completing his present project, Nenu Naa Rakshasi, featuring Rana and Ileana, Puri is reportedly moving on to his ambitious Hindi film with Amitabh from February. B’wood sources add that the Big B has given Puri the go-ahead and the movie has been titled Budda (old man).

Bollywood star Tabu, who had a terrific chemistry with Big B in Cheeni Kum earlier, has been signed to star with him once again. A report was making the rounds that Tapsee has also been roped in for the project. However, when sources contacted Tapsee, who was in the city for her film’s promotions, she said that she had been unable to accept the project as her call sheet diary was full till the end of April. “Puri sir did approach me for his Bollywood film. But my dates have been booked till April end and I don’t want to make a hurried entry into Bollywood by squeezing out my dates. So, I explained my position and politely declined the offer.”

The grapevine says otherwise, buzzing that she didn’t like the script. She reacted indignantly. “How can it be? I don’t really know anything about it! I didn’t even reach that stage, of listening to the script. I made my position clear while everything was still in the initial stage,” she protested. The actress feels that if she was destined to get into B’wood some day, she’d get good offers.

Junior NTR and Tapsee pair in Rachcha Movie

Jr.NTR’s tentatively titled film ‘Rachcha’ was launched quite a while ago. tkada has earlier announced that Tamanna is playing the female lead in the film. Now, the latest news is Tapasee has been roped in to play the second female lead in the film.

‘Rachcha’ is being directed by Surender Reddy and produced by B V S N Prasad under the banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra Ltd. Tapasee currently has two films that are getting ready for release, ‘Vastadu Naa Raju’ opposite Vishnu and Mr.Perfect opposite Prabhas. The shooting of the film starts, as soon as NTR’s Shakti gets wrapped up.

Charmi act as Journalist in Nagaram Nidra Potunna Vela Movie

Actress Charmi, who is facing a rough patch in her film career, is trying to bounce back with her new film, ‘Nagaram Nidra Potunna Vela’. The actress is playing character of a dynamic journalist in the film.

A song was filmed on one huge set erected at Ramoji Film City under the supervision of choreographer Shiva Shankar. An action sequence was picturised under the supervision of action director Prabhu. A few crucial scenes were canned in Vikarabad forest and surrounding areas. The second schedule will be held from January second week.”

The music has been composed by Yasho Krishna and the story has been penned by Deenraj. Anukokunda Oka Roju. A well known hero is said to be playing a key character in the film. Other supporting casts include Ahuti Prasad, Shiva Reddy and Paruchuri Gopalakrishna. The film is being directed by Premraj and produced by Nandi Srihari. Tekula Muktiraj is the co-producer. This is yet another heroine oriented flick like her earlier suspense thriller film.

Ilaignan Movie Release On Pongal Confirm

‘Ilaignan’ starring Pa. Vijay, Meera Jasmine and Ramya Nambeesan in the lead roles is based on the book written by M. Karunanidhi, Tamilnadu Chief Minister.  This is slated to be his 75th film as a writer. The story, screenplay and dialogues are completely penned by him.

The latest development regarding this film is Red Giant movies of Udhayanidhi Stalin have acquired the rights of his grandfather’s film. The audio of the film was released recently and songs are topping the charts. The film is directed by Suresh Krishna and produced by S.Martin is going to hit the screens for this Pongal.

Nenu Naa Rakshasi Movie Release on Janauary 15

Nenu Naa Rakshasi movie is gearing up for its release in the early half of January. Meanwhile, the maverick director Ram Gopal Varma seems to be impressed with the film’s director Puri Jagannath, hero Rana and Ileana’s work in ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’. RGV especially keeps showering praises on the sexy siren, Ileana these days.

Varma tweets, “Saw the beginning of Jagan’s ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ and it is shockingly effective. Ileana’s performance is a revelation. She will shock everyone.” It is noteworthy to mention that RGV has earlier mentioned that he is dying to see ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ as he was very much impressed with Ileana in the film and she looked simply gorgeous.

Mahesh Babu Is James Bond Role In New Film

Here is the good news for all Ghattamaneni’s fans. It is known that Super Star Krishna is the first Telugu hero seen in James Bond roles. He received many super hits too with those genre films. Following his legacy, Mahesh Babu has grabbed a James Bond role in one of his upcoming films

If reports are to be believed, the remake of Krishna starrer ‘Gudachari 116’ is on cards and Mahesh will play the lead role in it. ‘Gudachari 116’ is 1967’s super hit film that has shaken all the Box-Office records. Meher Ramesh will direct this film and RR Movie Makers will produce it. The movie will roll onto the sets in May 2011. However, the official confirmation of the film is yet to be made and let’s wait for the other details.

Prabhas and Tapsee Dhee Jodi special Final Dance Show

The reality dance show of ETV, ‘Dhee Jodi special’ will see the Rebel star Prabhas and the gorgeous beauty, Tapsee Pannu at the grand finale. The finale is said to be filmed today at RFC and is expected to be aired soon on the Television. Currently the quarter finals are being telecasted.

It has become a routine practice that every finale of Dhee witnesses few biggies of Tollywood. Siddarth's 180 Movie Release on this Summer

Siddharth who is seeing dark these days is trying to come up with a hit with  ‘180’ which is a bi-lingual in Tamil and Telugu directed by famous ad filmmaker Jayendra. For the last one month the unit of 180 was rolling the camera in North America under -4 degrees of temperature. The film is an out and out love story with some uniqueness in it. Siddarth a married man and a responsible doctor in US gets in touch with a girl in India and on this regard he all the way travels from US to India which lead to an interesting twist.

Priya Anand and Nithya Menon are playing his love interest in the film.  How ever the visuals in the film are very much eye-catching with the camera cranked by K.T. Bala Subramaniam using Red camera. Sharath is being introduced as a music director with this film. 180 is expected to be a summer release produced by Sathyam Cinemas.

Recalling an incident which took place at the airport, Genelia D’Souza shares that as soon as she entered the airport, a horde of fans surrounded her. But contrary to her thoughts that she would now have to start signing autographs for all assembled, her fans only wanted their favorite actress to pass on her sweet and infectious smile to them. And it was this that made the actress very happy. We guess that she smiled all the more!

It was through her homepage on social networking site Twitter that Genelia D’Souza shared this incident with the world. The actress was at the Coimbatore airport because her shoot for ‘Velayudham’ at Pollachi had been stalled due to rain.

Recently Shraddha Das acted in many Telugu films including Allu Arjun’s Arya 2. She announced would not do roles where she would have to play the role of a second lead. But surprisingly within days, she accepted a role of a second lead!

She is all set to debut in Kannada in a film titled ‘Hosa Prema Purana’. The film would be produced by a real estate magnate based in Bangalore. When this was pointed out to her, she said that the role is not exactly the second lead role. “In the film, I have more screen space than the second heroine. So I accepted it” she says.

Amrita Rao Steps to Tollywood For Dil Raju Movie.

Amrita Rao is back. She made debut in Telugu opposite Mahesh Babu in Athithi in 2007. Although the film was not a big hit, she made an impression with Telugu audiences. After a gap of three years, this svelte beauty is making comeback opposite Siddharth in a new film to be directed by debutant Venu Sriram and produced by Dil Raju. Earlier, Trisha was considered for this role but finally Amrita is penciled in. Regular shoot of the movie commences shortly.

Saloni as Telugammayi Shooting at RFC

The shooting of Saloni starring ‘Telugammayi’is still going on in Ramoji Film City and the next schedule would be in the surroundings of Palakollu. The train song ‘Pairagaali vachi nannu paata paada mandi….’ is presently being shot at Ramoji Film City. This apart there is yet another special song combined with 3 different accents of Telugu language (Telangana, Coasta and Uttar Andhra) written by Ananth Sriram. Vandemataram Srinivas is the music composer.

Raja Vannem Reddy is directing this film with Saloni in title role and Vikram, Yashwanth, Harsha and Saichand in male lead roles. Vasu handles the camera. Vaanapalli Baburao is the producer.

Shraddha Das Debuted With Tollywood Film

Though Shraddha Das debuted with Tollywood film and has worked in a couple of Telugu flicks post her debut, it was through her Hindi film debut in Lahore that the actress gained countrywide acclamation. Though Lahore was not a commercial hit, it won the attention of the critics and also went on to win the National Award. It was from here that she was noticed by director Madhur Bhandarkar, says Shraddha Das.

The actress has not signed any Bollywood venture after Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji and she is also waiting for a meaty role to land up in her lap in Tollywood. Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji also stars Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi and Shruti Haasan in lead roles.

Telugu Movie Eeram Movie Ready To Release

The Telugu version of the Tamil blockbuster will be called ‘Thadi’. The dubbing work for the film has begun reveals Arivazhagan and the film will soon be ready for release.

‘Eeram’ was an action thriller which caught the attention of not only the movie goers in Tamil Nadu but also the critics working in the South Indian film industry. Sources reveal that the Telugu version will be of a shorter duration when compared to the original Tamil film.

Arivazhagan says that he is grateful to his producer Shankar who not only gave him the platform to showcase his talent in film making and gave him his first big break, but is also helping him out in the post production work of ‘Thadi’. With ‘Thadi’ hitting Telugu screens, the audience can embrace themselves for yet another thriller ride.

Ilayaraja, SPB, Chithra & Shreya Ghoshal together in "Sri Ramarajyam" Movie

Maestro Ilayaraja has completed recording eight songs for veteran director Bapu’s magnum opus – mythological film titled Sri Ramarajyam starring Balakrishna in the lead role. Legendary singers S P Balasubramaniam and Chitra sung the songs while for the first time Shreya Ghoshal shared a song with Chitra for this flick. Jonnavittula and Vennelakanti wrote all the eight songs composed by the maestro. This is the second time that director Bapu and Ilayaraja coming together after their earlier musical hit - Mantrigaari Viyyankudu .

Sri Ramarajyam is all set to begin the shoot from November 22nd and Yalamanchali Saibabu is producing it. Mullapudi Venkata Ramana has provided the script based on Valmiki Ramayanam. The movie is to be made with high technical standards and national award winning technician Kamal Kannan who worked for Magadheera would be overseeing CG work.
