South Indian actress Sandhya was born on September 27, 1989 as Revathi in Kerala. Sandhya made her debut through the Tamil movie 'Kaadhal' in 2004 for which she has won the Filmfare Award and Tamil Nadu State Film Award. She has also acted in Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada. Sandhya made her debut in Tamil before completing her 10th exam.

Sandhya made her debut in Malayalam through the movie 'Alice in Wonderland' in 2005. She has also appeared in Mani Ratnam's stage show, Netru, Indru, Naalai and debut as a playback singer in Tamil movie 'Manjal Veiyil'. Sandhya has mostly appeared in Tamil movies. Sandhya's latest films include D-17 and College Days in Malayalam, Irumbukkottai Murattu Singam and Nootrukku Nooru in Tamil and Haasini in Telugu.
