Director Shankar celebrates his birthday on 17th August

Director Shankar is celebrating his birthday today (August 17th, 2010). He started his directorial ventures with Gentleman in 1993 and went on to make his mark with several blockbusters including Kadhalan, Indian and Sivaji. Shankar is known for his penchant for highly commercial films made at astounding budgets. This birthday should be extra special for Shankar as the Rajinikanth-starrer Endhiran is due to be released soon.

Apart from directing films, Shankar has proved that he is an able producer. His production house S Pictures has produced several films and most of them have turned out to be smash hits. Some of this recent production ventures are Eeram and Ananthapurathu Veedu.

‘I salute for Rajini’s commitment and determination’: Shankar

The veteran filmmaker Shankar who has worked with superstar Rajinikanth for the films ‘Sivaji the Boss’ and ‘Endhiran’ is heaping laurels on the legend actor.

He says “One should follow Rajinikanth to learn punctuality and dedication. He is a man of perfection. Many asked me how I could make a sci-fi film with Rajini in the lead as he is known for mass movies. My answer to them is anything is possible when Rajini sir is around because, he has that mass appeal.”

Shankar further says “Rajini was always punctual to work,” Shankar says and adds: “If the schedule is at 8.30 in the morning, he would arrive at the spot early in the morning itself. Popularity sits very lightly on his shoulders.”

He adds more “It would take almost six hours to do the makeup. But Rajini would wait with all patience. I salute his commitment and determination. He is one of the most comfortable heroes I’ve worked with.”

Shankar to remake 3 Idiots in Tamil and Telungu

Aamir Khan's biggest hit in Indian Cinema Industry 3 Idiots, is finally getting ready to scorch the South Indian screens. Gemini film circuit has bought the South Indian remake rights of 3 Idiots for a whopping price and they have been waiting all these days to put the project in the right hands.

They succeeded in getting the consent of South India’s best commercial director Shankar to remake this project, is what news circles say. The official confirmation is not out yet, but this will be a bilingual in Telugu and Tamil. A star hero will play the role of Aamir Khan in this remake. Stay tuned for further details.

Aiswaraya Rai's ’Robo’ Audio launch on July 18

Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai’s film ’Robo’ has all set to release its audio soon.The Sun pictures is planning to release the audio in a grand way in Dubai.

This film directed by Shankar. AR Rahman has composed the music for the film.The movie was first planned to release by the end of August but due to some technical reasons it has been postponed to September.

Earlier it was said that ‘Robo’ will be released in the month of August but close sources to the director Shankar say that the movie may be released in September as it takes some more time for special effects being made.

Now the latest buzz is that the Sun Pictures is gearing up to release the audio of ‘Robo’ just before two weeks of the movie release in Dubai. It is planning to have a grandest ever happened event in Dubai.
